The Hawks needed only a little more than half of the third period to overcome a three-goal deficit and take the lead, edging the Omaha Lancers 6-5. Defensemen Tyler Miller and Landon Nycz had the game-tying and game-winning goals respectively. The win moves Waterloo within one point of the Sioux Falls Stampede for third place in the USHL Western Conference.
The Hawks are in action next on Friday against the Madison Capitols at Young Arena.
