Fire At John Deere Building Put Out By Sprinkler System

Small Fire Occurred at John Deere PEC Building

Firefighters credited the sprinkler system for putting out a small fire at a John Deere building in Cedar Falls early Thursday. Crews responded to the fire at the Product Engineering Center building at 6725 Cedar Heights Drive just before 2:30 AM. Officials said the fire happened in a confined, secure room, but the sprinkler system had already put out the fire by the time firefighters arrived. Crews then worked to ventilate the building and remove water from the sprinkler system. There’s no word yet on how the fire started or the amount of damage it caused.  There were no injuries reported.
