2023 High School Football preseason officially begins this week with ‘Fit to Hit’ camps

This week marks the formal beginning of the 2023 high school football season, as ‘Fit to Hit’ preseason camps begin today and go throughout the week.

Teams across the state use this week of preseason camp to teach safety, fundamentals and get their respective teams conditioned for the rigors of fully padded preseason practices, which begin next Monday on August 7th.

Week 1 kicks off on Friday, August 25th, and among Metro teams season opener’s… 

• Cedar Falls opens at Cedar Rapids Prairie.
• Waterloo Columbus Catholic plays at Dyersville Beckman.
• And Waterloo West and Waterloo East faceoff in week 1, with the Wahawks designated as the home team at Memorial Stadium.
