NASA Astronaut To Help Open Sturgis Falls Celebration

Cedar Falls Native Appears, Will Be Celebrity Grand Marshal

The 47th Annual Sturgis Falls Celebration kicks off today in Cedar Falls for another three day run.  A major highlight of this year’s event is the celebrity grand marshal, Cedar Falls native and NASA astronaut Raja Chari.  Chari will be appearing at Overman Park this morning, starting at 11:30AM and will be at the festivities throughout the day today and at tomorrow’s parade which starts at 10:00AM in downtown Cedar Falls.  Opening ceremonies for the event will be at 6:00PM tonight, and a host of events will take place at Overman, along with Gateway Park, throughout the weekend, and the Cedar Basin Music Festival will have musical guests at Sturgis Park and at New Aldaya LifeScapes.
