Cedar Falls high school sophomore Jaden Merrick won the boys 3200 last night at the Drake Relays in Des Moines.
Merrick’s time of 8 minutes & 55.14 seconds was a Drake Relays record.
In other events involving metro & area prep athletes at the Drake Relays yesterday,
Jesup’s Jack Miller won the long jump with a jump of 23 feet & 3.75 inches. Waterloo Columbus Catholic’s Thomas Steele finished ninth in the long jump with a jump of 21 feet & 9 inches.
