Yesterday in metro high school boys golf;
Cedar Falls finished first-place at its own Tiger Invitational held at Pheasant Ridge.
The defending Class 4A state champion Tigers won over a competitive 11-team field with a team score of 282. Waukee Northwest was second with a 292.
Cedar Falls’ Max Tjoa won medalist honors with a 3-under 69, beating teammate Evan Schofield by one stroke.
Waterloo East competed at yesterday’s meet and finished 11th.
Last night in metro high school volleyball;
Class 5A 7th-ranked Cedar Falls defeated Cedar Rapids Prairie in three-sets. Tigers senior Katie Remmert recorded her 1000th career kill in the win.
Waterloo West swept Cedar Rapids Washington.
Waterloo East cruised past Mason City in three-sets.
And Waterloo Columbus outlasted Oelwein in 5 sets.
