Clarksville advances to State Softball Tournament, Waterloo Columbus’ game postponed

The Clarksville softball team is heading back to the State Tournament.

The 7th-ranked Indians rolled past Saint Ansgar, 12-2, in 6 innings in a Class 1A Regional Final last night. Clarksville built a 6-0 after two innings.

The Indians improve their record to 28-1 overall.

Clarksville will face Southeast Warren next Tuesday night at 7:30 at the State Softball Tournament in Fort Dodge.

The Indians are seeded 6th while Southeast Warren is the 3 seed.


The Waterloo Columbus softball team is waiting till tonight to complete its 2A Regional Final at Central Springs.

Central Springs led 2-0 and had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 2nd inning with two outs when the game was suspended due to the weather.

The game will resume at 7 tonight.
