The high school baseball season began yesterday.
In season openers involving Metro schools;
Iowa City High swept a doubleheader from Cedar Falls, 7-0 and 6-2.
Cedar Rapids Xavier took a pair of games from Waterloo West, winning 18-0 and 9-2.
Waterloo East rolled past Wapsie Valley, 14-0.
Yesterday in Metro girls golf, Cedar Falls took part in the final round of the MVC’s Mississippi Divisional Meet in Cedar Rapids.
Dubuque Wahlert finished 1st with a 319. Cedar Rapids Xavier was 2nd with a 334 and the Tigers placed 3rd with a 346.
