Three area teams advance to State Wrestling Duals with Regional Dual wins

Berths into the State Dual Team Wrestling Tournament were on the line last night as Regional Duals took place across the state in all three classes.  

In action involving area schools;

In 3A, Waverly-Shell Rock defeated Cedar Rapids Prairie, 54-19, to punch its ticket to state.

In 2A at Manchester, Independence downed Dike-New Hartford 56-18, but lost to West Delaware, 41-24.

In 1A at Gilbertville, West Hancock overpowered Waterloo Columbus 54-20, before falling short to Don Bosco, 51-15, in the finals.

At Lisbon, Wapsie Valley punched its ticket to state, defeating Lisbon, 39-30.

At Alburnette, Jesup got past MFL-Mar-Mac 40-31, then fell to Alburnette, 60-9.

And Nashua-Plainfield earned a trip to state, defeating Lake Mills 50-15. 

The State Dual Team Tournament takes place Saturday at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
