Former Cedar Falls standout Terrance Freeney to be inducted into IHSAA Hall of Fame tonight

A former Cedar Falls high school standout will be honored tonight at halftime of the Class 5A state football championship game.

Terrance Freeney will be among six former players inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Football Hall of Fame.

Freeney is the all-time rushing leader among the state’s largest classes with 6,582 yards. He was a two-time all-state running back.

In 1999 he led Cedar Falls to the 4A championship in a season where he rushed for 2,746 yards in just 11 games.

Freeney played collegiately and finished his career at UNI where he was the top rusher on the Panthers’ 2005 national runner-up team.

Listen to Terrance Freeney’s appearance on Thursday’s ‘Cole & Company’ with Cole Bair where he discussed his IHSAA Hall of Fame induction and looked back on the fondest memories of his playing career.
