Several area schools compete in state volleyball tournament quarterfinal matches today.
For the first time the state tournament is being held at Xtreme Arena in Coralville. The meet goes Tuesday through Thursday (11/1-11/3).
In Class 3A, at 10 a.m., Union plays Des Moines Christian.
In 2A, at 2 p.m., two-time defending state champion Dike-New Hartford plays Carroll Kuemper. Sumner-Fredericksburg faces Hull Western. Denver takes on Hinton and Wapsie Valley will goes against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
In 1A, at 6 p.m., Don Bosco plays Ankeny Christian. At 8 p.m., AGWSR battles North Tama and Gladbrook-Reinbeck faces Holy Trinity.
