Cedar Falls, Columbus’ Molly Fereday qualify for 2022 state golf tournament

2022 Girls State Golf Tournament qualifiers were decided today as Regional Meets took place in all four classes.

In a 4A Regional held at Irv Warren in Waterloo, Cedar Falls qualified to state for the eighth consecutive year. Western Dubuque won the Regional with a team score of 335 and the Tigers finished second with a 340.

Individually, Cedar Falls’ Molly Ratchford was the meet’s runner-up with a 78.

Waterloo West placed 7th at yesterday’s Regional at Irv Warren, while Waterloo East placed 10th.


In a 2A Regional held at Clarion, Waterloo Columbus’ Molly Fereday finished second individually and qualified to State.

Fereday shot a 78, four strokes behind medalist Chloe Bolte of Sumner-Fredericksburg. Fereday finished 4th in the state last season.

The State Golf Meet will take place May 26th and 27th at four different locations. 1A will be in Marshalltown. 2A at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls. 3A in Adel and 4A will be in Ankeny.
