Two area schools will be competing this evening at the Girls State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines.
At 5:00, Waverly-Shell Rock will play Bishop Heelan in a 4A quarterfinal contest. The 6th seeded Go-Hawks are 18-5, while the 3rd seeded Crusaders are 21-2.
And tonight at 6:45, top-seeded Dike-New Hartford will go against 8th seed South Central Calhoun in a 2A quarterfinal.
The defending state champion Wolverines own a 22-2 record, while South Central Calhoun is 19-5.
