IGHSAU moving toward sanctioning high school girls wrestling

In a board meeting yesterday, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union says it’s moving forward with the sanctioning process for girls wrestling.

More than 50-schools have formed teams over the last three-years.

Also, at the meeting, the board debated whether to continue the State Volleyball Tournament in Cedar Rapids or hold it in Coralville.

Coralville recently built the new XtremeArena.

Cedar Rapids has been the host site for the State Volleyball Tournament for 31-years.

A decision is expected to be made at the Athletic Union’s January meeting in Des Moines.
