Sporting News together its list of the current top-25 college football coaches and Iowa State’s Matt Campbell was ranked 20th.
Campbell is 42-34 in six seasons and the Cyclones have recorded more wins over nationally-ranked opponents during that stretch than any time in program history.
Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz is 11th in the poll.
Ferentz is entering his 24th season as head coach of the Hawkeyes. Iowa is 26-9 over the last three seasons and is coming off an appearance in the Big Ten championship game.
Alabama’s Nick Saban was the top coach in the rankings, with Clemson’s Dabo Swinney 2nd and Georgia’s Kirby Smart 3rd.
