Two former Metro standouts will be inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s basketball Hall of Fame this week.
Brad Barron, who prepped at Cedar Falls, and Kent McCausland, who played at Waterloo West, will be among seven inductees recognized at halftime of the Class 3A Championship game on Friday.
Barron was an all-state post player who posted school record averages of 22 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks per game in 1992. He capped his Tigers career as runner up for the state’s Mr. Basketball award.
McCausland was an elite shooter who led West to the Class 4A state tournament in 1994. He averaged 17 points, five rebounds and five assists per game as a senior, earning all-state honors.
