The Cedar Falls girls basketball team punched its ticket to the State Tournament last night, defeating Cedar Rapids Prairie, 45-35, in a Class 5A Regional Final.
It was a low scoring, defensive first half as the Tigers led 15-10 at halftime. Going into the 4th quarter Cedar Falls built a 28-19 lead.
Grace Knutson led the Tigers with 18 points.
It was the 20th straight win for the Tigers, who are now 22-1 on the season.
Cedar Falls plays next Monday afternoon at 1:30 against Davenport North in the State Tournament quarterfinals at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The Tigers are seeded 7th. Davenport North is seeded 2nd.

In a Class 4A Regional Final last night 2nd-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock held off 14th-ranked Western Dubuque, 43-37, to punch its ticket to the State Tournament.
With its win the Go-Hawks remain undefeated at 23-0 W-SR is seeded 2nd and will face 7-seed Sioux Center this coming Tuesday at 3:15 in the State Tournament quarterfinals.
