The Waterloo Schools Board of Education Monday night approved the sale of the former Elk Run Early Childhood Center building on McCoy Road, to the Boys and Girls Club of the Cedar Valley for $5,000. The building had been previously deemed as surplus by the district. In other action, the board installed Jeff Sommerfeldt as the chief financial officer and board treasurer, and the board approved the resignation of board vice president and District 4 director Endya Johnson, for personal health reasons. A process for filling the vacancy will take place in the coming days.
