The Hawks led most of the way, but then had to scrap for a late goal and a 4-3 shootout win against Lincoln. Jakub Altrichter scored for Waterloo and now has a goal in three consecutive games. Griffin Erdman and Gavin Lindberg were among the other Hawks who came up big.
The Hawks host the Stars again during a Friday rematch next weekend.
