A Waterloo man accused of killing 26-year old Cortavious Benford last year has been convicted of first-degree murder. 24-year old Savion Wilson was found guilty Wednesday morning for the 2022 murder. Wilson shot and killed Benford at an apartment on Palmer Drive. First-degree murder in Iowa carries a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
