A 78-year old pedestrian was killed while walking across the roadway in Fredericksburg on Tuesday. The Iowa State Patrol says, at just before 5:00PM, 78-year old Jerome Leach of Fredericksburg was struck by a car driven by 85-year old Edmund Emerson of Cedar Rapids on US Hwy 18 near Falcon Drive. Leach was pronounced dead at the scene.
