4.27.23 – Metro track & soccer results

A pair of area athletes registered impressive performances yesterday at the Drake Relays.

Cedar Falls Jacob Kieler took first-place in the high jump with a winning leap of 6-feet-10-inches. The mark was a Cedar Falls high school record.

Northern Iowa junior Carter Morton became the first Panther to win the Drake Relays decathlon in 10 years. Morton won the pole vault and javelin yesterday to capture the title. His 7,454 points is a career best.

The Drake Relays continue today in Des Moines and will finish up tomorrow.

Yesterday in Metro high school soccer…

In boys matches,

Cedar Falls edged Cedar Rapids Jefferson, 1-0.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy edged Waterloo West, 3-2.

In girls matches,

Cedar Rapids Jefferson outscored Cedar Falls, 3-2.
