Class 3A and 4A boys basketball Substate Quarterfinals took place across the state last night.
In a 4A contest involving a Metro school, Waterloo East outscored Iowa City High, 80-74. Jamauryus Bradford-Gates led East with 27 points.
The Trojans, who improved to 13-8, play next at West Des Moines Valley in a 4A Substate Semifinal on Friday.
In area 3A Substate Quarterfinals last night;
Waverly-Shell Rock defeated South Tama, 64-34. The Go-Hawks play next at Pella on Thursday.
And Charles City ended Independence’s season, 71-33.
