Waterloo West high school basketball standout Sahara Williams is preparing to compete for the United States at the FIBA World Cup in Hungary.
Williams made the USA women’s basketball 3-on-3 U18 National Team last month. The team is scheduled to compete August 23rd through the 28th. The team is currently in training camp in Chicago.
Each team is comprised of four athletes representing high school graduating classes of 2023 and 2024.
This past season she averaged 19.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and four assists per game as the Wahawks reached the Class 5A Finals.
Williams will be making her USA basketball debut.
