The boys high school soccer tournament began last night with substate play in all three classes.
In games involving Metro teams;
In 3A, Waterloo West got past Cedar Rapids Washington 2-1. Linn-Mar defeated Waterloo East, 11-0. And in 1A, Waterloo Columbus downed Cedar Valley Christian, 7-1.
In other area 1A games; Garner-Hayfield-Ventura beat Denver 3-1 and Gladbrook-Reinbeck rolled past Sigourney-Keota, 10-0.
And in an area 2A game, Hudson stopped Waverly-Shell Rock, 5-0.
Boys substate soccer continues Monday.
