The Dike-New Hartford Girls Basketball team claimed its second straight Class 2A State Championship Saturday.
Payton and Jadyn Petersen each recorded their third double-double in as many State tournament games to lead the Wolverines.
Payton, who was named captain of the all-tournament team, scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Jadyn, also an all-tournament team honoree, added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The Wolverines finished the season 25-2.
