Wapsie Valley falls in Class 2A State Softball Tournament Championship

Thursday night at the high school State Softball Tournament in Fort Dodge, Wapsie Valley came up short in the Class 2A Championship, falling to Grand View Christian, 7-6 .

The Warriors built a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the 3rd inning, but the Thunder rallied, scoring five runs.

Grand View Christian held a 7-4 lead going into the top of the 7th, but Wapsie Valley’s comeback attempt fell short, scoring a pair of runs to pull within one.

Wapsie Valley ends its season with a 21-8 record.

Three Warriors were named to the 2A All-Tournament Team; Taylor Buhr, Sawyer Buhr and Lola Destival.
