Clarksville & Wapsie Valley win at State Softball Tournament

The 2026 high school State Softball Tournament began yesterday in Fort Dodge and two area schools were among those in action.

In Class 1A involving an area school,

defending state champion Clarksville outlasted North Butler, 12-11, in 15 innings.

Trailing 6-2, the Indians scored four runs in the bottom of the 7th to force extra innings.

Eve Jordan got the game-winning hit for Clarksville with a walk-off double in the 15th.

Clarksville faces Fort Dodge Saint Edmond next. This evening at 5:15. 

In Class 2A involving an area school,

Wapsie Valley defeated Logan-Magnolia, 7-2.

The 3-seed Warriors broke a 2-2 tie with a five-run 5th inning.

Wapsie Valley (19-7) takes on Ridgeview next. This afternoon at 4:45.
