Watkins wins Waterloo Open
Matthew Watkins won the Waterloo Open yesterday at Irv Warren.
Watkins tied for first place after three rounds with Ryan Sullivan and Nick Infanti, shooting 198, and won the event in a playoff.
Watkins, a Rockwell, Texas native, received a 30-thousand-dollar purse for the win.
A similar result unfolded in the Amateur Open, as Jonathan Feldick of Waterloo tied for first with Dusty Drenth and Grant Smith with a three-round 206. Drenth then won in a playoff
Established in 1933, the Waterloo Open Golf Classic is Iowa’s largest and oldest professional golf tournament.
