The high school girls’ State Soccer Tournament kicks off today. Matches take place at Iowa State’s Lied Recreational Fields, and four area schools are among those competing.
In Class 1A Quarterfinals,
Top-seeded Denver goes against Iowa Falls-Alden at 10am,
7-seed Aplington-Parkersburg faces 2-seed Davenport Assumption at 12:30,
And 3-seed Hudson plays 6-seed Treynor at 12:45.
In Class 2A Quarterfinals,
2-seed Waverly-Shell Rock battles 7-seed North Polk at 5:30.
The Tournament goes through Saturday.
