Cedar Falls, Waterloo West boys basketball players earn MVC honors

The Mississippi Valley Conference released its Valley Division boys All-Conference teams and players from Cedar Falls and Waterloo West were among those recognized.

Cedar Falls senior forward Will Gerdes was named MVC Valley Division Player of the Year. 

The 6-foot-8 Gerdes averaged 20.5 points and nearly seven rebounds per game. Tigers’ guard Jaydon Kimbrough and forward Leyton Wolf were also named to the MVC Valley Division first team, while senior guard Parker Berns received second team recognition. Waterloo West sophomore Oliver Beckman was also named to the second team.

Cedar Falls’ Ryan Schultz was named Coach of the Year.
