13 metro wrestlers qualify for girls State Tournament

13 metro girls wrestlers punched their ticket to the 2025-2026 State Tournament this past weekend.
In Class 2A,
Cedar Falls qualified 11 wrestlers, including; Sloane Foss (105), Isabella Stumbo (110), Lauren Whitt (115), Annabelle Rohret (120), Jobie Conway (125), Destiny Hoeppner (130), Maya Swarts (135), Kylie Ernst (140), Lana Schafer (145), Natalie Ritter (155), Briar Ludeman (190),
and Waterloo West’s Daniesha Watson qualified.
Watson won the 130 pound title at the Independence Regional where the Tigers and Wahawks both competed.
In Class 1A,
Columbus Catholic’s Josie Dean earned her second trip to state. Dean won the 140 pound title at Midland.
The girls State Wrestling Tournament begins Thursday and goes through Friday at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
