Metro & Area athletes compete at girls State Tennis Tournament today

The girls high school state tennis tournament begins today at multiple locations across the state.

The Class 1A tournament takes place at the Hawkeye Tennis and Rec Center in Iowa City, while the Class 2A tournament is being held at Byrnes Park in Waterloo.

In Class 2A, Cedar Falls’ doubles team of Indre Jakunas and Ayla Suiter and Waterloo West’s doubles team of Harper Doerder and Janet Toe are competing.

Meanwhile, Cedar Falls’ Mackenzie Sagers is set to compete in singles.

In Class 1A, Dike-New Hartford’s Addy Joslin and Lauren Muller will compete in doubles and Waterloo Columbus Catholic’s Kate Holton is involved in Singles play.
