The Iowa DNR is investigating a fish kill at Crane Creek, near Readlyn in Bremer County. The DNR Field Office was notified of the fish kill last Friday. Officials believe that the fish kill happened at 250th Street and Piedmont Avenue, with dead fish found 20 miles downstream by Dunkerton. An estimated 40,000 fish of several types were found dead and a cause has yet to be determined. Those that encounter dead fish are asked to call the DNR’s 24-hour spill line at 515-725-8694.
