Cedar Falls Reminds Residents of Fireworks Ordinance

Fireworks Allowed on July 4, 5, 6 in City

The City of Cedar Falls is reminding residents of the local fireworks ordinance. Consumer fireworks are permitted within the city limits on July 4th each year between the hours of 9 AM and 11PM. During a City Council meeting in mid-February, the Council voted to also permit fireworks on July 5th and July 6th from 9 AM to 10 PM. This includes first-class and second-class consumer fireworks.  Violators of the ordinance outside of the dates and times face a misdemeanor charge, and a fine of $250 plus costs.  Signs have been posted in many areas of Cedar Falls to remind residents of the ordinance and penalty for violating the ordinance.
