Aaron Thomas named interim Aplington-Parkersburg football coach

Aaron Thomas will pull double duty this upcoming school year.

The long-time Aplington-Parkersburg varsity boys basketball coach will also lead the A-P varsity football team on an interim basis. 

He succeeds Alex Pollock, whose contract was not renewed after totaling 86 wins in 14 seasons.

Thomas, who also serves as Aplington-Parkersburg’s high school principal, was approved by a 4-1 school board vote to take on an interim basis. 

Son of late, legendary coach Ed Thomas, Aaron will coach this fall on the field that bears his father’s name.

The A-P administration has stated that it will continue to search for a long-term candidate.
