Cedar Falls, Waterloo East advance to Metro Baseball Tournament Championship

The annual Metro High School Baseball Tournament began last night at Robinson-Dresser Sports Complex in Cedar Falls.

In the first game, Waterloo East outlasted Waterloo Columbus 4-3 in 9 innings. The Trojans improve to 2-0 with their win. Last night’s game was the Sailors’ season-opener.

In the second game, Cedar Falls cruised past Waterloo West 14-2 in 5 innings. It was the first win of the year for the Tigers who are now 1-4. The Wahawks fall to 0-3.

The tournament finishes up today. In the consolation game at 5, Waterloo Columbus plays Waterloo West. In the championship game at 7, Waterloo East takes on Cedar Falls.
