The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association has released its boys All-State basketball teams and the Cedar Valley has several players recognized.
Two Metro players landed on the 4A second team. Cedar Falls’ Dallas Bear and Waterloo West’s Keishaun Pendleton. Kewone Jones of Waterloo East was named to the 4A third team.
On the 3A third team is Cole Marsh of Waverly-Shell Rock.
In 2A, Aplington-Parkersburg’s Garret Hempen was named to the first team, and teammate Gavin Thomas earned second team honors. Hudson’s Camden Davis and Jesup’s Jack Miller received third team recognition.
On the 1A first team is Dunkerton’s Casey Gardner and Preston Gillespie and Gladbrook-Reinbeck’s William Kiburis. Wapsie Valley’s Mason Harter was named to the second team.
The 2023 Iowa Mr. Basketball is Pryce Sandfort of Waukee Northwest. The University of Iowa bound senior guard averaged 24.9 points and 11 rebounds a game.
