The Cedar Falls high school boys swimming team had a strong showing at the Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet held Saturday in Marion.
Linn-Mar won the meet with 326 points while Cedar Falls was runner-up with 286-1/2 points. The Waterloo swim team also competed and placed 10th.
The Tigers John Butler won the 200 meter freestyle and placed 2nd in the 100 backstroke.
Butler was named the Mississippi Division Swimmer of the Year. Cedar Falls head coach Cliff Paulsen was named the Mississippi Division Coach of the Year.
