Waterloo Black Hawks & The Fan welcoming ‘Clark The Cub’ to Young Arena on Friday, December 2nd

Waterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Black Hawks and 1650 The Fan are excited to welcome Clark the Cub to Young Arena on Friday, December 2nd when the Hawks host the Sioux Falls Stampede at 7:05 p.m.

Clark the Cub has been the official mascot for the Chicago Cubs since 2014.  He can be found at Wrigley Field throughout the summer months and just about anywhere there are Cubs fans during the offseason.  Clark will be on the Young Arena concourse throughout the evening of December 2nd.  He will be available for pictures and the chance to meet all of the Cubs’ biggest fans, young and old.  Clark will also help to get the game started by dropping the ceremonial first puck.

“There are baseball fans – specifically Cubs fans – all over the Cedar Valley, so when we had the chance to work with The Fan and bring Clark to a game, we couldn’t pass it up,” said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene.  “For one night in December, we get to have a little bit of summer fun, and we can all remember that spring training is just a few months away.”

The Fan is the Cedar Valley’s official station for the Cubs radio network, featuring Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer, as well as Black Hawks broadcasts throughout the winter.  Before the December 2nd game, Cole Bair will bring his show – Cole & Company – to Young Arena and broadcast live from the rink between 5 and 6 p.m.

“The Fan is excited to combine a couple of our listeners’ favorite things when Clark the Cub visits for the Black Hawks game against Sioux Falls on Friday, December 2nd,” said Bair, who is also the station’s Program Director.  “We can’t wait to see the extra energy inside Young Arena when our Cubs listeners come out to meet Clark the Cub and support the Black Hawks against the Stampede.”

In addition, one lucky fan in attendance on December 2nd will take home a prize package including a Cubs blanket, autographed photo of pitcher Alec Mills, Cubs playing cards, Cubs hat, Cubs koozies and a Cubs mug, courtesy of The Fan.

From now through game day, listen to The Fan during ‘Cole & Company’ and ‘Maximum Mornings’ with Mark Simpson for your chance to win Black Hawks tickets.

The Black Hawks are also offering a “Bleacher Bums” ticket package, including one bleacher section ticket, one beer token (must be 21 or older), and one chuck-a-puck for $16.50.  Find the offer at tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com using promo code gocubsgo.

Seats can also be purchased by calling the Domino’s Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680.
