A couple of Metro boys golf teams got their seasons underway yesterday, as Cedar Falls and Waterloo West took part in the Mississippi Valley Conference Boys Golf Super Meet at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion.
The Tigers dominated the 15-team field, shooting a 305 to win the event, finishing 10 strokes in front of second-place Linn-Mar.
Recent Iowa State signee Owen Sayer shot a 63, winning the individual competition by eight strokes. Jack Beecher also secured a top-3 finish, tying for 3rd with a 75.
Waterloo West shot a 373 to finish 15th.
