Several area players named IHSBCA Northeast All-District honorees

The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association has released its 2022 All-District teams, and several area players were named to the Northeast All-District first team.

In 3A, Independence catcher Keegan Schmitt, Independence outfielder Marcus Beatty, and Waverly-Shell Rock utility player Chance Key.

In 2A, Jesup pitcher Jack Miller, Denver pitcher Chase McEwan, Waterloo Columbus shortstop Carter Gallagher, Jesup outfielder Brody Clark-Hurlbert, utility player Gus Varney of Dike-New Hartford, and Jesup’s Nate Cagley, also as a utility player.

And named to the 1A All-District First Team were: Don Bosco catcher Kaden Knaack, Janesville second baseman Jared Hoodjer, Don Bosco third baseman Landon Frost, Wapsie Valley outfielder Jake Schoer, and Hudson’s Caleb Ham as a utility player.

Listed on the 3A second team were Independence pitcher Jake Sidles, Independence first baseman Korver Hupke, Independence shortstop Mitch Johnson, and Waverly-Shell Rock utility player Carson Graven.

In 2A, Dike-New Hartford pitcher Lewis Textor, Jesup first baseman Carson Lineau, and Jesup utility player Brevin Dahl.

And in 1A, Don Bosco pitcher Mack Ortner, Don Bosco outfielder Cole Frost, and Don Bosco utility player Ryan Naughton.
