A young mother and two children were taken to the hospital after an accident involving a truck and a train in Parkersburg Sunday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened just before 4:00PM at the railroad crossing at 2nd Street. 28-year old Aleshia Meeks was driving the pickup truck at the crossing and was struck by a Canadian National train headed west on the tracks. Meeks was airlifted to MercyOne hospital by AirCare. The two children in the truck, ages one and four, were taken to MercyOne hospital by ambulance. The investigation is continuing by local authorities and the CN Railroad.
