The NBA draft takes place tonight and former Iowa Hawkeyes forward Keegan Murray could become the highest pick in program history.
Fred Brown is Iowa’s highest ever selection when he was taken 6th overall in 1971.
The 6-foot-8-inch Murray was the fourth highest scoring player in the country this past season, averaging 23.6 points per game.
Hoping to hear his name called tonight is former UNI standout AJ Green. The Cedar Falls native opted out of his final year of college eligibility to enter the NBA draft.
The high scoring guard was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and finished his career as UNI’s third all-time leading scorer.
A recent mock draft from Kyle Boone of CBS Sports has Green being selected 23rd overall in the 2nd round. CLICK HERE to see the entire mock draft.
