Iowa State, UNI and Iowa combine for nine All-Americans at NCAA Wrestling championships

The NCAA Wrestling Championships wrapped up Saturday night in Detroit.

Iowa senior Jacob Warner dropped a 3-2 decision to Penn State’s top-seeded Max Dean in the 197-pound finals.

The Hawkeyes placed 3rd as a team and finished with 5 All Americans for the 9th straight year.

Iowa State finished in 17th place. The Cyclones had three All-Americans, which is the most under head coach Kevin Dresser. David Carr at 157 had the highest placing finishing 3rd.

And UNI’s Parker Keckesien placed 3rd at 184 as the Panthers finished in 20th place.

Penn State locked up the team title with 119.5 points.
