The Girls State Basketball Tournament tips off today in Des Moines. Quarterfinal action will take place in 5A and 3A.
Waterloo West will be competing this afternoon at 3:15 in a Class 5A match-up as the 6th-seeded Wahawks take on 3rd-seeded Ankeny Centennial.
Waterloo West is 21-2, while Ankeny Centennial is 20-3. The Wahawks are making their third straight trip to State, while the Jaguars are making their second.

Three other Cedar Valley schools are in search of a state title this week.
Two area schools will take the court tomorrow night.
At 5, Waverly-Shell Rock will play Bishop Heelan in a 4A quarterfinal contest, while at 6:45, Dike-New Hartford will go against South Central Calhoun in a 2A First Round game.
Wednesday morning at 10, in another 2A quarterfinal game, Denver will play Underwood.
