The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released its preseason basketball rankings.
Several area schools are in the polls:
In Class 5A, Waterloo West is ranked 2nd, while Cedar Falls is 3rd.
In 4A, Waverly-Shell Rock is 15th.
And in 2A, defending state champion Dike-New Hartford is number-one, Grundy Center is ranked 3rd, Denver 5th, and Jesup is 11th.
The Girls Metro High School Basketball Jamboree took place last night at Waterloo West High School.
Teams participated in two-quarters of action.
These are the scores from last night’s event:
Dunkerton outscored Valley Lutheran 49-8
Waterloo East 26, Hudson 17
Cedar Falls 35, Waterloo Columbus 14
And Waterloo West outscored Sumner-Fredericksburg 34-11.
