Two area schools competed in State High School Football Playoff Semifinal action yesterday in the UNI-Dome.
In a Class A semifinal, Grundy Center defeated Woodbury Central 28-7.
Spartans quarterback Logan Knaack rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another.
Grundy Center advances to the Class A Championship game for the third consecutive year.
The Spartans will play West Hancock in the title game, next Thursday, November 18th, at 1:00.
In a Class 4A semifinal, Lewis Central ended Waverly-Shell Rock’s season, 35-10.
Lewis Central broke open the game in the second half after the score was tied at 7 apiece at halftime.
Waverly-Shell Rock ends their season with a 10-2 record.
State High School Football Playoff Semifinal games continue today at the UNI-Dome, with action in Class 1A and 5A.
This afternoon at 1:00, an area school will be competing in 1A, as Dike-New Hartford will take on West Sioux.
The Wolverines own a perfect 11-0 record, while the Falcons are 10-1.
Dike-New Hartford is making their first appearance in the semifinals since 2018.
