WATERLOO — Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry and Coloff Media presented the House of Hope with a donation of $2,751.00 Wednesday afternoon at its main offices in Waterloo.
The check presentation concluded the third season of the ‘Points for a Purpose Campaign’, an philanthropic effort ran in conjunction with Cruisin’ KCFI’s (1250 AM and 105.1 FM) play-by-play broadcasts and coverage of Cedar Falls High School athletics during the 2019-20 sports season.
Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry sponsored this year’s campaign and pledged to donate 50-cents for every point the Cedar Falls Tigers scored in varsity football, girls basketball and boys basketball during the 2019-20 campaign. These are the main varsity sports carried by Coloff Media’s Cruisin’ KCFI.
The Cedar Falls Tigers had an exceptional scoring season in 2019-20 across the three varsity sports, combining for 3,502 points. The Tigers’ football team ended the year with a state quarterfinals appearance, while the girls’ basketball team made it to state quarterfinals and the boys basketball team won the Class 4A third-place game at the state tournament.
In conjunction with Kimball and Beecher’s $1,751.00 donation to House of Hope, Coloff Media Owner Jim Coloff donated an additional $1,000 to the House of Hope.
