Heroes Among Us Postponed due to Coronavirus

To follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 response guidelines and in the interest of putting the safety of our patients, colleagues and community members first, MercyOne has decided to postpone this year’s Heroes Among Us originally scheduled on Thursday, March 26, 2020. We act out of an abundance of caution and are cancelling all events/classes until at least April 15.

We look forward to reconvening to honor and celebrate these Heroes on Thursday, May 28 at the Diamond Event Center in Cedar Falls.  Doors will open as usual at 7 a.m. with the awards breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Your sponsorship continues to exist for the new May date.  We recognize events like these are important opportunities to connect with our community and advance our Mission. However, our priority is always the health and safety of our patients and the communities we serve. We appreciate your support, generosity and above all patience.

Every year, Heroes Among Us shines light on Iowans who have truly made a difference in the lives of family members, friends and neighbors.

These individuals did something others could not. They went above and beyond to help others, their communities, and the environment around them. A tradition starting in 2006, Heroes continues to be the premiere event in the Cedar Valley that honors those doing great things. In return, the money this event has generated to date has funded improvements within our care facilities in Northeast Iowa. On behalf of our MercyOne foundations in the Cedar Valley, we want to thank these heroes for all that they have done.
